Time for my obligatory once in an every long time update about my collection of events that comprise a life:
First off, check out my facebook, it rocks and I got lots of cool pics and things listed about me that most of you probably never knew and maybe didn’t want to know.
Second off, spring break was fucking great. Got LOTS of shit done, including starting on my senior project, which is really the only that worries me, but I feel pretty good on how it’ll go and I really can’t see my professor actually failing me. Got a new closet, yea that’s right my room had no closet (wtf). Sold a bunch of shit on ebay
Managed to take an entire week off from lifting weights, I had gone 4x/week for about 16weeks and was starting to get random back spasms and cramps so It was definitely time to give my body a break, and I feel great for it, and eager as hell to crush some iron tomorrow night at 9:45pm sharp.
Also started cutting as the beach season nears, down to 32” waist, the goal being 30.5”.
If anyone wants to work out w/ me and grant at the Press in Roseville (ahem…clark, mike, jon, whoever) let me know, I’m always down for a workout and would be happy to help you guys out if you’re interested. Hell, ya can even use me as a punching bag if you want, then I won’t need a massage.
Went to the dentist the other day for the first time in over a year, took FOREVER, apparently there was large plaque buildiup, but no cavities so yea!
Anybody up for goin to Bills Gun shop next week, checking out some models and possibly doing some range shooting?
Got some things comin in the mail that yall should be pretty excited about, will tell ya more later when it gets here.
Also I may have uncovered a sweet loophole in getting free clothes, more on that if it pans out.
I ordered a bombass laptop, Dell w/ 17” screen, 1.8ghz duo processor and all the other fuckin bells and whistles, finally a computer of my own.
Got some sweet summer vacations in the works, its lookin like campin in Utah and having a good ‘ol redneck time in Wyoming at Frontier Days. Maybe a mini-roadtrip too, who knows?
Graduation is may 5, evening. Great. Just what I wanna do a damn Friday night, sit in a hot auditorium listing to some losers speak and waiting to get my piece of paper. Of course my parents are making me go. I’ll be bringing my flask.
My mp3 player finally broke down, rca lyra. RIP. I got a good 3.5 years out of it usin it a couple hours a days every week. Replaced w/ this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16855603808
Nice, color screen, 1 gig flash, rechargeable battery, voice recorder, good output and the best part, USB 2.0!
Went to St’ Pattys day party at Grants on Friday, it was pretty damn fun. Not real inclined to talk about it here though, but, well, I think I might have a clear head since the first time since december 2001, and it isn’t because of another fucking drug. Just a profound spiritual reflection, remember folks, THERE’S NO CHEMICAL FIX FOR A SPIRITUAL PROBLEM!!!!1!!!!11!!!!1!!! motherfucking words of wisdom right there.
I also managed to make it into work for 4 hours on Saturday…..i think I only worked about 26 minutes though. Eh.
Getting a new tattoo tomorrow, will have pics, probably on my facebook album, and no its not a giant penis, or potato.
Just had an awesome run outside right now, the runners high is unbelievable, running really is one of the most liberating things you can do for yourself, and its great for your body on top of it.
Peace be with you all.

Sir G asked to me update this thing with tales of my recent ruleness.
Unfortunately no rule has occured of late. Some rule may be coming in the future, but at this point even light prognostication is unwarranted.
Furthermore since joining facebook I have become increasingly paranoid of my "internet footsteps", and am now accutely aware that any nefarious wrongdoer could be reading this and plotting evil deeds agaist me.
I will say there are quite a number of random musings that have crept into my mind in recent months, some of which has arisen from the realization of impending graduation, and others which seem a logical manifestation of an evolved series of Markov events. Perhaps I will write on it someday, perhaps not.

seems to be the trend lately...
You fit in with:
Your ideals mostly resemble those of the Taoist faith. Spirituality is the most important thing in your life. You strive to live by all of your ideals, and live a very intellectually focused life.
Take this quiz at QuizGalaxy.com
now if only I knew what the fuck taoist was...

there's a program run by metro area actuaries to tutor middle school kids from minneapolis at some special learning center, the subject is math of course. I've often thought about signing up, which is highly uncharacteristic given I have very little patience for people's inability to comprehend rather simple algorithms. I'm also bothered when people have trouble reappyling similar concepts to a differnt problem. Reminds me of when Mr. Domingos had some student that though x=9 today, cause thats what it was yesterday.
But I really feel like this could be a fulfilling venture, or at least look good on a resume.
Seems like it could help get chicks as well, somewhat akin to the "walking cute dog in the park" strategy.

Getting in the groove of going to school for a few hours a day a few days a week...
It seems I may graduate without ever having the "hellish" semester that seemingly everyone encounters sooner or later. I thought this would be it but its looking easier and easier, and next semester is nothing more than one important class and some mop up pass/fail courses for the purpose of getting a minor and retaining health insurance. In fact after october 25th I'll be down to class on just M/W through may.
More time to study for exams...suuuuper. :(
Speaking of which, ~one week until the probability test at Thompson Prometric. I've got plans to take the exam, hit the nearest bar, then try like hell to make it back to campus for my 4 hour night class on insurance.

-went to school uber-early cause I had to get a ride from parents
-barely kept awake through two classes, pretty sure my econ teacher caught me nodding off about 8-11 times in a 90 minute span, but that class doesn't really matter and I've already decided the teacher is complete euro-trash (think stereotypical german to the core).
-got my car fixed (yay!)
-tried to study/do hw but didn't feel like it
-fell asleep at 7pm, woke up today at 8
I've got that beginning of school angst thing going on where everything worries me and truthfully theres nothing to worry about, I am concernred with balancing class stuff with studying for upcoming actuarial exams but hopefully that isn't going to be a problem, as time budgeting is one of my best skills (usually), and I spent ~110 hours the past two months going over the material.
I've three large presentations to do this semester, but hopefully that won't be too bad because none of them have much potential GPA-impact and they're all group projects. I also learned that two of my classes are onl for the first half of the semester, which is good because one is insurance theory for 4 hours every wed night, and night classes are always boring, and so is insurance, so its a double borefest.
I felt like I wasted a bunch of time yesterday falling asleep so early so I'm going to be busy today. Did cardio this morning, then watched the new ep of rescue me (great show), then studied for two hours, and now I'm gonna eat lunch, head to school, sit in class for 8 hours, hit the gym on the way home and hopefully at the point have a good feeling for being productive on the day.
noon, sunday cannot get here fast enough...

so I spent today fixing up my car, and then breaking it (which was not part of the plan).
when routine maintenance turns ugly..
The bitch of it all is it snapped off right on what would have been the last turn, so the bolt is way far in and very stuck.
I tried turning it back with lock pliers, didn't budge. Then I cut a notch in it and busted out a huge screwdriver, didn't budge. Then I started to drill a hole in the center in the hopes of using an easy out, but two broken drill bits later and a lousy unstraight hole ended any hope.
so now... I can either jury rig something and hope that it holds for a few miles to the nearest shop, or have it towed, which is covered under insurance but... its just so stupid that I have to tow my car because of a stubborn busted bolt.
So a 10$, 10 minute t-stat swap has now turned into an all day affair requiring my car to go a shop and me to pay the bills!

I also just scored $280 worth of textbooks off half.com for a mere $130. Take that UMN bookstore!
went to the fair yesterday with big J (who regained that title after the feast that took place)
mostly just ate a bunch of food, going back on wednesday for more
-48 oz fry bucket
-turkey leg (massive!)
all in a ~3 hour span, I could've ate more but I was pretty full and didn't want to pass into the "uncomfortably" full range. Gonna have to spend more time there on wednesday eat least enough for full digestion and then complete stomach refill. maybe do some rides or the pirate ship ball shooting thing
Amazingly enough I woke up this morning 2lbs lighter than the day before and 1/2" less waist. This can only be a sign to pig out even more next time.
|Wednesday, July 27th, 2005|
so I was reading this book last night (Enders Game, some of you may remember it from mrs. hawks class in 7th grade) and I got really into it, read the whole thing in one sitting. But the whole time I sat in the same position, ~5 hours, with my right arm sitting on the edge of the table and it really fell asleep bad, that nasty tingling sensation. Anyway this morning its still there and its not going away, I even went to the gym and a bunch of wrist/forearm exercises to get the blood flowing and its still all tingly.
I hope it doesn't need to be amputated, then I would *have* to get a gf, cause I'm not ambidextrous if you know what I mean...

So I've decided to move to Australia.
...Or maybe I'll just get married.
Wish me luck, all. :)

Amusingly, I found my favorite switchblade under the seat when I was cleaning out my car this morning. I thought it was lost forever. Would've been interesting if my car ever got searched, not that I would ever consent, but funny nonetheless. Kinda reminds me of the time I drove around without a license for 9 months cause I forgot to renew.
Can you believe these neat little things are classified as automatic weapons, right there along with Uzis and shit? This country...
Skipped the Dells car show this weekend. Sounds like it was a pretty good some even without most of the OG's. I just wasn't feelin it though. Sorry Mark, btw it was cool to talk to you sat. night. Slam Jam is being investigated, as well as Dells '06 being all but a sure thing.
But all was not lost it was a pretty good weekend anyway, friday all I did was pass out on the couch, exhausted after digging this huge whole in the backyard for my dad's landscaping project, he's putting in a pond with a bunch of boulders and a stream flowing into the pond and shit, its a pretty big undertaking. I'm just the muscle though, and tax-free wages are always welcome.
Sat. night went to mike/jon/clarks apartment for some predrinking, then went to comedy club which has been pretty detailed in other peoples journals so I'll skip that although I'll add that the 95lb drunk chick that kept saying things was pretty hot and, if given the opportunity, I sure wouldn't be worried about breaking her in half. :)
Then went to eichs graduation kegger, that was a really good outing, met some cool new people and had a chance to talk to some others that I hadn't seen in a long time. I lost count of how many beers I had on the night but suffice to say I drank more than I had in exactly one year (last date of heavy drinking, Dells may '04). Clark/mike/warnick/grant didn't stay long but I felt the night was not over so I made the (usually) stupid decision to crash, but it actually turned out really good, slept on the couch in the garage with was incredibly warm and confortable. Also went through a ton of smokes and had to make an SA run to refill and satisfy cravings for twinkies 'round 3am. Things wrapped up for good at about 4 and we hit the sack.
Also thought it was interesting that earlier in the night, during the predrinking, some people expressed how they absolutely did not smoke, then when we arrived at the kegger they're all like "gimme a cig." I wasn't mad about it, but it is interesting from a socialogical angle.
Pretty much slept/watched movies all day sunday, although amazingly enough I had no hangover and actually felt really good--which I attribute to the rejuvenating effects of the late night twinkies... and something else.

so back in february I had bought a pair of shorts that I recently decided I didn't like and wanted my $20. By some stroke of divine luck I actually found the receipt for these things sitting in my room, the problem was I had worn them once and had thrown away the tags. So I go to target and take a tag off one of the pairs of shorts, thing is they don't have a size34 tag in black, so I grab a 36. Then I attach it to my shorts and go back in to return the things. The return girl (who was ugly btw) is like, this receipt doesn't match this tag, its the wrong size. So she calls over the manager, and normally I'd start to get nervous cuase this is startin to look like I'm tryin to scam them out of $20 (yeah yeah not much, but this is soooo common at retail places believe me), but I'm wacked up on 4 happy pills from a lousy day at walgreens, so I'm kinda just goin with the flow here. They keep questioning me like have I ever returned them or did I bring up two pairs when I originally bought them, and I just keep stonewallin 'em saying I don't know and such.
Finally the manager is just like, we're going to give you your money back just this once.
Checkmate, I win.
put my fucking grades online you assholes. I know you have them.

I went over to the arden hills library to do some studying for my stochastic processes final tomorow. That was going dandy for about 10 minutes until I looked over at the bookshelf and saw "The Oreilly factor" by bill oreilly. It was just there. Naturally, I was forced to kill a few hours reading it. Then I got hungry and decided to reward my intense "studying" with some Mcds double awesomeburgers.
Luckily I've got a few hours tomorow between tests to do some real studying for this thing. As is usually the case with finals though, loads of extra time spent studying generally only delivers marginal returns... so I'm not too worried. More than likely 3/4 of the test will be fine and the last question will be something obscure that I wouldn't have bothered studying anyway.

so if anyone needs closure on my MP3 player saga, I did send the broken one back and got my refund. But miraculously my old player began working again, like fucking magic! So the whole situation sort of resolved itself. Whats even more unbelievable is the conditional probability of this sequence of events is obscenely low, pretty much infinitesimal, and it actually happend! Gives me hope for hooking up with a super hot chick some day. :)
required class schedule posting for next semester (though this isn't too common anymore as some of you bastards are graduating [suckers])
math 5248: Cryptology
math 5067: Actuarial math
ins 5100: Corp. risk management
ins 5200: insurance theory
econ 4531: labor economics

so my MP3 player broke. It didn't really break, it just stopped working. It had served its purpose, and its time on this earthly plane was over. Now this is/was a huge crisis, because I like to jog in the mornings and lift iron in the evenings, and I HATE doing either of those w/out music (and the radio sucks too much to listen to). So I pony up for a creative zen micro 5gb player with a touchpad and lots of other bells and whistles and junk, and I pay for the two day shipping (cause I didn't think overnight was worth it but I need this thing as fast as possible).
Of course it gets shipped fedex, the only joint that makes me sign for stuff instead of just leaving at the door [becuase here in the heart of roseville theres a huge fear of senior citizens prowling ppls doorsteps and stealing packages]. So of course nobody is home today and I don't get my player and they're gonna redeliver tomorow. So the two day shipping is all for naught and I gotta go a couple more workouts without music. FURTHERMORE I coulda just stayed home today but for some unknown reason I decided to go to my english class, which was worthless anyway cause as usual I hadn't read any of shitty poems that were being discussed.
But regressing a bit I should note that I left my later afternoon probability class early so I could come home and possible drive to the fedex place and just pick it up and get my damn music player. However for no good reason at all my internet was down and I couldn't look up directions to the fedex plant. BUT this is probably not a large issue since it was in white bear lake, my car is low on gas, I'm lazy, and gas is fucking expensive.
Furthermore I just tried to gas up afterI hit the gym and the stupid machines wouldn't take any of my credit cards. Well I didn't need that gas anyway, fuckers.

spring break over. it was boring. exams coming up this week. bummer.
